The Mayor of Paros, Mr. Bizas, gave an interview to the international network Al Jazeera as part of the three-day Aegean Rebreath activities held on the island. The Mayor had the opportunity to speak about the content of the initiatives, the municipality’s efforts to protect the marine environment, as well as the work and achievements of the Blue Municipalities Network.
The international media group visited the local recycling facilities and the Aegean Rebreath marine litter station on the island, while also covered the related activities that took place. Furthermore, the media crew showed interest about the meeting held between municipal authorities, local civil society organizations and representatives of Aegean Rebreath, which focused on drafting a strategic plan for the island’s marine and coastal environment.
This visit was the third mission by an international media group to the island to cover activities related to environmental efforts by the municipality and the environmental organization, confirming the growing international interest in protecting the marine environment. At the same time, it provided another opportunity to promote the Blue Municipalities Network globally, highlighting the importance of this unique initiative.
